Project Overview
Barwon Heads Road Duplication – Work Package 2 - is a proposed four-lane 1.1 km arterial connection between Barwarre Road and Marshalltown Road in the City of Greater Geelong. The proposed arterial duplication aims to ease traffic in the surrounding area and includes duplication of a 1.1-kilometre section of Barwon Heads Road between Barwarre Road and Marshalltown Road. Works also include the construction of new bridge structure over the Geelong-Warrnambool Railway Line at Marshall, removal of the existing level crossing, roadworks at various intersections, utility scope, shared path, and public lighting upgrades.
Project Scope
Since January 2021, MBB provided BMD with both TOC Management and site Construction Management services to the project.
MBB have assisted BMD in a number of roles for this project, commencing with formulation of the TOC for the project in early stages.
Since then, we have also played a significant role during the procurement process, providing Contractual advice and negotiation in the engagement of key trades, ensuring accuracy in scoping, and value for money outcomes for the project.
